Simple Exercises to Enhance Your Joy Every Day
On February 2, 2022, CNN published a blog post titled "American Happiness Hits Record Lows." It reported the results of a Gallup poll, which showed that only 4 out of every ten adults were satisfied with their lives. More recent research shows similar findings in other countries as well.
Time isn't guaranteed to us, so doesn't it make sense to spend as much time as you can happy rather than stressed out, frustrated, filled with self-doubt, and a poor self-image? The following tips can lead to daily happiness, so start exercising them today.
Schedule Relaxation
Your daily responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks. Why not consider incorporating activities you desire to experience as well? Infuse small moments of relaxation and peace into your day.
Spend a few minutes meditating. Enjoy a funny video clip. Listen to your favourite music. Add relaxation sessions to your daily schedule rather than just hoping they appear.
Create an Impenetrable Defence System
Personal development is a billion-dollar industry. People seek self-help and self-improvement content so they can create better lives. The advice they often receive is to push out negative thoughts. That is great advice for creating more happiness and joy, but wouldn't it be smarter to keep those thoughts from entering their minds in the first place?
You can build a force field around your mind and emotions that stress and negativity cannot defeat. Feed on positive content whenever you can. Watch videos and listen to podcasts covering personal development, happiness, and joy. Listen to audiobooks that make you feel good and spend time with people that do the same thing. The more focused you are on positivity; the less negativity can enter your mind.
Exercise Every Day
One simple and free way to gain more joy and happiness is to exercise. It has been proven repeatedly that physical activity flushes toxins and other waste from your body.
It simultaneously begins the production of feel-good chemicals like dopamine and serotonin that crank up positive emotions and feelings. Enjoy at least 150 minutes (2.5 hours) of moderately intense physical activity every week for the biggest boost of bliss. You can break it up however you like.
Socialise Daily
Those positivity-pumping chemicals we just talked about are produced when you socialise. Spend time every day interacting with people that put a smile on your face. Even if you're not laughing and smiling, being in the physical presence of others has been linked to improved happiness.
These are simple tips to integrate into your life. Make time to practice them daily. You will benefit from more happiness and overall emotional wellness.
